दीपावली के अगले दिन मनाया जाने वाला गोवर्धन पूजा या अन्नकूट उत्सव,
भारतीय संस्कृति का ऐसा पर्व है जो प्रकृति, कृषि और आत्मनिर्भरता के गहरे संदेश को प्रकट करता है।
यह पर्व भगवान श्रीकृष्ण की उस अद्भुत लीला की स्मृति में मनाया जाता है,
जब उन्होंने गोवर्धन पर्वत को अपनी छोटी उंगली पर उठाकर
गोकुलवासियों को इंद्र के कोप से बचाया था।
Govardhan Puja or Annakut, celebrated the day after Diwali,
is a festival in Indian culture that reveals a deep message of nature, agriculture, and self-reliance.
This festival commemorates the miraculous act of Lord Krishna,
when he saved the people of Gokul from the wrath of Indra by lifting Govardhan mountain on his little finger.
🌸 पौराणिक कथा
कथा के अनुसार, ब्रजवासी हर वर्ष इंद्र देव की पूजा करते थे ताकि वर्षा हो और खेती अच्छी हो।
परंतु श्रीकृष्ण ने उन्हें समझाया कि —
“हमारा जीवन इंद्र नहीं, बल्कि गोवर्धन पर्वत और प्रकृति के सहयोग से चलता है।”
इसलिए उन्होंने इंद्र पूजा के स्थान पर गोवर्धन पर्वत की पूजा करने का सुझाव दिया।
इंद्र के क्रोधित होने पर उन्होंने भयंकर वर्षा की,
तब श्रीकृष्ण ने गोवर्धन पर्वत को अपनी उंगली पर उठाकर
सात दिनों तक सभी गोकुलवासियों की रक्षा की।
यह घटना सिखाती है कि प्रकृति की सेवा और सच्ची श्रद्धा,
किसी भी देवता के क्रोध से बड़ी होती है।
🌸 Mythological Story
According to legend, the people of Braj used to worship Lord Indra every year to bring rain and ensure good farming.
But Lord Krishna explained to them that –
“Our lives depend not on Indra, but on the support of Mount Govardhan and nature.”
So he suggested worshipping Mount Govardhan instead of Indra.
When Indra became angry, he caused heavy rain.
Then Lord Krishna lifted Mount Govardhan on his finger and protected all the people of Gokul for seven days.
This incident teaches that serving nature and true devotion
is greater than the wrath of any god.
🪔 अन्नकूट का अर्थ और परंपरा
इस दिन घरों और मंदिरों में अन्नकूट तैयार किया जाता है —
जिसमें अन्न, सब्ज़ियाँ, मिठाइयाँ और तरह-तरह के पकवान बनाकर
भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को नैवेद्य के रूप में अर्पित किए जाते हैं।
अन्नकूट का अर्थ है — “अन्न का पर्वत”,
जो समृद्धि, कृतज्ञता और सहयोग का प्रतीक है।
गोवर्धन पूजा हमें यह सिखाती है कि
हमारे जीवन में अन्न, जल, धरती, वायु और प्रकृति का स्थान
देवताओं से भी ऊपर है।
🪔 Meaning and Tradition of Annakut
On this day, Annakut is prepared in homes and temples—
in which grains, vegetables, sweets, and various dishes are prepared—
and offered as naivedya to Lord Krishna.
Annakut means "mountain of food,"
which symbolizes prosperity, gratitude, and cooperation.
Govardhan Puja teaches us that
food, water, earth, air, and nature have a place in our lives
even above that of the gods.

गोवर्धन पूजा केवल पूजा नहीं, बल्कि एक संदेश है —
