हिंदू पौराणिक कथाओं में भगवान कृष्ण और उनकी पत्नी सत्यभामा, राक्षस राजा नरकासुर से युद्ध कर उसे पराजित किया था | यह घटना नरक चतुर्दशी के त्योहार का आधार है, जिसे छोटी दिवाली के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, जिसे बुराई के नाश के दिन के रूप में मनाया जाता है।
In Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna and his wife Satyabhama fought and defeated the demon king Narakasura. This event is the basis for the festival of Naraka Chaturdashi, also known as Chhoti Diwali, which is celebrated as the day of destruction of evil.
नरकासुर, एक शक्तिशाली राक्षस, ने मनुष्यों और देवताओं दोनों को आतंकित कर रखा था और 16,000 राजकुमारियों का अपहरण कर लिया था।
Narakasura, a powerful demon, terrorized both humans and gods and had abducted 16,000 princesses.
किंवदंती के अनुसार, भगवान ब्रह्मा के वरदान से नरकासुर को यह वरदान प्राप्त था कि उसका वध केवल उसकी माँ ही कर सकती है। चूँकि सत्यभामा भूदेवी, पृथ्वी देवी और नरकासुर की माँ का अवतार थीं, इसलिए उन्होंने ही अंततः कृष्ण की सहायता से नरकासुर को युद्ध में पराजित किया।
According to legend, Narakasura had a boon from Lord Brahma that only his mother could kill him. Since Satyabhama was an incarnation of Bhudevi, the Earth Goddess, and the mother of Narakasura, she ultimately defeated Narakasura in battle with the help of Krishna.
राक्षस की मृत्यु के बाद, कृष्ण ने राजकुमारियों को बचाया और उनके सम्मान की रक्षा के लिए, उन सभी 16,000 राजकुमारियों से विवाह किया। नरकासुर पर विजय उत्सव रोशनी के साथ मनाया जाता है, इसीलिए नरक चतुर्दशी मनाई जाती है।
After the demon's death, Krishna rescued the princesses and married all 16,000 of them, to protect their honour. The victory over Narakasura is celebrated with lights and festivities, which is why Naraka Chaturdashi is celebrated.
🌼 पौराणिक मान्यता के अनुसार, इस दिन भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने नरकासुर नामक दैत्य का वध किया था।
नरकासुर अत्याचार और अहंकार का प्रतीक था —
उसने स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी दोनों लोकों में आतंक मचा रखा था।
भगवान कृष्ण ने उसे परास्त कर,
हजारों बंदी कन्याओं को मुक्त कराया और धर्म की पुनर्स्थापना की।
इस विजय के उपलक्ष्य में लोगों ने दीप जलाकर उत्सव मनाया,
जो आगे चलकर दीपावली के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हुआ।
“नरक चतुर्दशी हमें सिखाती है कि जब हम अपने भीतर के अंधकार —
अहंकार, लोभ और क्रोध — को मिटाते हैं,
तभी सच्चे अर्थों में प्रकाश उत्सव मनाते हैं।”
According to mythological belief, Lord Krishna killed the demon Narakasura on this day.
Narakasura was a symbol of tyranny and arrogance—
he wreaked havoc in both heaven and earth.
Lord Krishna defeated him, freed thousands of captive girls, and restored Dharma.
To commemorate this victory, people celebrated by lighting lamps, which later became known as Diwali.
